Why is there magnesium oxide in the Magnesium Glycinate (Goodnight Maggie)?

The amount of magnesium oxide is proprietary information.  However, we can tell you that the Magnesium Bisglycinate Chelate delivers 18 mg of elemental Mg/100 mg of the product.  Per 100 mg of the product, it contributes 8.9 mg of magnesium that is chelated with 55 mg glycine– enough to improve solubility and buffer the remaining Mg as oxide to optimize paracellular transport.  Significantly more than half the product by weight is magnesium bisglycinate chelate – hence the name Magnesium Glycinate.
