What happens to rest of cod after EVCLO oil is produced?

Thank you for your question and concern about the Atlantic cod that is the source of your Rosita Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil (EVCLO).

The cod entrails are  thrown back into the ocean for the birds and other fish.

At one time, the fillets were being sold for food. But now, Rosita is using the head, fillet and bones for another Rosita Real Foods product - coming soon! We will have more information on the product once it’s released.

The bottom line is that none of the cod is going to waste. Rosita runs a very sustainable production and company - and that’s one of the core reasons we so strongly believe in their products!
